Sri. Paloli Muhammad Kutty giving his message to the budding VEOs.
Minister explains the merits and challenges of decentralization, participation, empowerment and the role of VEOs in these processes.
In his opinion, participation of people leads to increase in quality and can eliminate unwanted delay in fulfilling projects.
He also insisted upon the relevance of Gramasabha and VEOs in the process of planning, implementation and monitoring.

Commissioner's (RD) visit
Respected Rural Development Commissioner Mr.V.N.Jithendran. I.A.S visited E.T.C. Thaliparamba on 17th February 2010.He started his carrier as a Block Development Officer and I.A.S. is conferred to him for his Excellence in service.
He motivated young rural architects, the V.E.O. trainees with his simple and humble speech. He gives a brief idea about the historical perspective of rural development programmes in India. He also mention the terms Decentralization, Participation and Empowerment.
From his speech ” National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (It has been renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) India is the first country in the world to enact a legislation for providing legal guarantee for one hundred days of employment in every financial year to one of the adult members of every family. The whole world is eagerly looking towards the progress of world’s largest employment programme.
Message from the Commissioner, a V.E.O. must have a sixth sense to find the poorest of the poor who were marginalized in the society.

Principal Secretary's visit
Mr.Vijayanand.I.A.S., respected Principal Secretary, L.S.G.D. visited E.T.C. Taliparamba on 1st February 2010.
He is one among the eminent personalities, who try their level best to rightly implement decentralization policies in Kerala.
Purpose of his interaction was to meet and share his ideas with the young rural engineering trainees.
On that day he delivered an effective flow of lecture for about 9 hours.
The intention behind his long eloquent speech was to create motivated, positive thinking, corrupt less, impartial V.E.Os.
In his opinion V.E.Os must have good imagination power about the renovation of the rural poor and the backward communities especially the SC/ST.

TRAINING FOR YOUTH CO COORDINATORS
